| A. | The planet seems to stand out of the scene, because it doesn't have lighting effects on it consistent with those in the rest of the scene.
It would fit in better if it had an edgelight on its side toward the superstar/sun to match those on the "lords" and horizon. The purpose of this layer is to provide the planet edgelight.
1) Making the layer totally transparent by setting both the outside and inside coloring to "solid fill" and setting the solid fill color opacity to zero. 2) Using the Clipping transformation to create a "centered" Clipping circle that will superimpose a visible white disk, the same shape and size as the planet of the layer below, exactly over the location of the planet, obscuring the view of the planet. 2) Similarly creating an "offset" clipping circle that will superimpose a transparency-creating copy of the "centered" disk over the "centered" disk but slightly offset, which will "eat away" all but a thin sliver of the visible white disk, leaving the "eaten-away," or "eclipsed", part transparent, so as to partially reveal the planet in the layer below.
